How to increase stamina?

What are ways to increase my stamina besides running. I'm playing tailback for my high school football team. What are some exercises and diets that i can do?

How to increase stamina?
Workout in a gym.Use light weights and lots of repetitions but build them up slowly. Do twenty reps of each exercise with very light weights. Next time try thirty - then forty and so on - but don't overdo it. You can also do free standing exercises like star jumps, sit ups and press ups - again don't overdo it but build up steadily. More people injure themselves and have to stop doing sport by trying to do too much too quick. Increase at a steady pace. Also, you can vary your running - sprint for 50 yards then jog for 50 yards then sprint again and so on - vary the distances - make it to the next corner shop or bus stop. Diets don't make for stamina. Just eat plenty fruit veg and carbohydrates - a good balanced diet and drink plenty water. Good luck!!

Reply:if you don't want to run you can do stuff like swimming biking jump rope any kardio work out is good.

well u dont wanna run, so try weights, but really, running is one of the main ways to increase stamina, but if not, tryweights, swimming, and to get better at running, use a tredmill, take constent brakes and in time you'll like running
