How to plan workout for basketball season?

I'm a freshmen joining the jv basketball team, and I really need stamina because I seem to always get tired during games, and sometimes even feel like throwing up. And i play either sg, or pg

Can someone tell me an effective workout schedule that includes sprints, long distance running, drills, or anything that will help me overall? Basketball season starts mid November.

thanks

Eat bananas and lift weights, bananas give you long lasting strength, eat one before working out, and also after you workout... also trying running a mile a day. And most important you gotta go out and play. Next year I suggest you don't until fall to start working out, summer time is the best time to work on your game, start training early so you can work out any problems you may have with your game...
Reply:get a physical, there could be something that cause the fatigue. If you check out ok, doing basketball oriented drills. Things you would do in the game, Dribbling from basket to basket and attempting layups, rebounding drills, shooting drills. That along with running suicides and other basketball types of running drills.
Reply:Long distance running won't help. Run lines. Run from baseline to foul line back to baseline then to half court and back to baseline then to the far foul line and back to baseline then to the far baseline and back and then to far foul line, half court, near foul line and end at base line. Rest 1 minute and do it again. Do 10 reps EVERYDAY. And, oh yeah, touch each line with your hand as you sto to turn around. This will prepare you for the stop-and-go of basketball. It has been a staple of all levels of basketball practice for years. Players hate running lines (I know I did!), probably why it works so well. Long distance running will actually degrade your ability to stop-and-go. Your body has to learn to rest in short bursts between sprints. When you can do the 10 reps easily, you will be able to run circles around those who didn't do them.
