What sport has the best athletes or requires most athleticism?

Great agility, speed, jumping, stamina, coordination, strength.

What sport has the best athletes or requires most athleticism?
Football (soccer)
Reply:Soccer? Yeah right-endurance yes. Strength-agility, speed, flexability, power, endurance. That is athleticism-that is what an athlete is. Basketball or football-or a decathelete. Soccer? A joke by comparison. Report It
Reply:Indeed, I concur with that, I had said football (american) myself. Report It
Reply:lacrosse
Reply:Decathlon.

You have to be able to sprint, run distance, jump, and throw. The four throws are all technically different.
Reply:As much as I hate to say it, probably basketball. I hate the sport, specifically because of it's athletes, but it is a physically demanding sport requiring jumping, running, agility, and teamwork. Other sports may have elements of this in their game, but not constantly. It's probably why a pro basketball game is only 48 minutes instead of an hour; it's too demanding. Playing every day would be quite a workout.
Reply:Hockey, of course.

To start, you need to learn how to skate, a second skill many adults don't have.

Other sports require just running.

Plus hockey, is the fastest sport on Earth.
Reply:Basketball probably requires the best athletes. You have to play both offense and defense. You have to run, sometimes non-stop for a while. You pretty much have to do everything.
Reply:Subtract jumping. Add determination. Then I would say boxing. Agility, Speed, Stamina, Coordination, Strength

A boxer must mantain all of these aspects of athelticism whilst taking a physical beating.

Boxers fight through semi-consiousness all the time and they have to be able to defend themselves even when they can hardly see or think.

An athlete might take a beating in another sport, but in another sport if a person were to be injured as much as in a regular boxing match that athlete would probably be taken out of competition and put on injured reserve for a while.

As for UFC, it seems like most fights last about 1 or 2 minutes...
Reply:Everysport has its demands.

You cant really say one sport requires the most.

Football (american) Requires all of the above.

So does rugby, soccor (not much upper body strength but a ton of leg, same with baseball.).

So you cant really have a single answer.
Reply:Lacrosse?

Dude....that's so funny.

Gymnastics by far......."real" wrestling second, than perhaps hockey and than football, baseball, soccer and basketball.
Reply:Those are all very good sports, but the greatest athletes on the planet play in the NFL. They have it all.....

SIZE

Strength

Speed

Agility

Vertical Jumping

Eye/Hand Coordination

Pure Athleticism

.....and they wear 10+ lbs. of equipment and are truly tested mentally and physically in a sport where it is dog eats dog.

Compare their size/strength/agility to any other athlete in any other sport, and their is no comparison (maybe hockey, but some players are average in size).
