My goal is to gain a lot of speed, stamina, and athleticism by the end of the summer. I've been running on the treadmill and doing the leg press machine to strengthen my quads. Some people said that the leg press machine isn't going to do anything for me and that I should just do squats instead. Is this true? The quads are the muscles that are used most during jumping. I don't see why using a leg press machine wouldn't increase my vertical jump.

increases mass which will weight you down. ud want to do anything without mass, and that is how you get faster.
