Do I have a chance of swimming the channel when I'm older?

I'm 12 and can swim 1 mile in 30mins not stopping once and 3 miles in 2 hours stopping for 2 minutes between each mile. Does this mean that I have good stamina for my age or can anyone swim like this easily? It's my dream to swim the channel and I've visited the official website but I'm too young to even attempt swimming it solo. I CAN swim half of it if someone over 18 swims the other half. Do I have a chance of even completing this? If yes where would you suggest finding an adult to do it with? I know I CAN swim further than 3 miles but my Mum won't let me in case I wear myself out for school- unless it's a sponsered swim but those only last for a couple of hours.

Follow ur dream!!! if you believe you can swim the channel then swim the channel and if your to young then wait till ur older and in the mean time do swimming trainin and so you can build ur strength

Reply:yeah i think you could do it, especially if you join a swim team, if you havn't already. it's a lot of fun and great exercise.
