i know you people will say run, but it dont seem to work for me.
How to get my stamina higher so i can run longer?
Really, how often do you run? How long and how fast is each run? If you train the right amount at the right pace you will improve.
The wrong way to train for a beginner - Run one mile really fast once a week. You'll feel terrible after the run and won't get much training effect.
The right way to train - Run/jog at an easy pace (or even walk/jog) for at least 20 to 30 minutes every other day. The run may be boring at first but it should not be painful. Your heart rate should be elevated but you should not be gasping for air.
It takes 2 to 3 weeks of training to get a measurable training effect. If you don't run consistently for at least this amount of time you won't see any improvement.
Reply:Try the elliptical! Man I love that thing. I often replace runs with the elliptical.
Reply:Running is generally the best way to get your stamina higher, but there are other cardio stuff you can do. But generally wont be as good as running. Cycling would be other best alternative, but swimming and even running can even improve your fitness.
It also depends what type of running your doing. Before you try and run longer, try getting a smaller distance faster. For example try and run 3 k (1.5 miles) A minute quicker or something like that.
Glad to help
Ryan :)
Reply:well unfortunately the only way to increase stamina is by practicing and pushing yourself further and further each time. the more you run..and the longer distance you run, the more you will be able to go the next time
Reply:You answered your own question. You really need to run, run and run a little more. Doing a lot more cardio based work outs will help as well. Keep that heart rate up!
Reply:When you get done running jumprope. And become motivated to reach a goal.
