I'm taking it, toughguy, that this is a single question, not two seperate. The greatest strength AND stamina, in combo.
The one's that come to mind are-
Jim Jefferies-( No one who ever fought Jim had any doubt about his strength or punching power. Some of his bouts were in the 20 rds., 23 and 25 rds.)
Jack Johnson-( Had good power and strength in his blows. Had many 20 and above rds. In all the footage i've seen of Johnson, his style was " laid-back' and cautious. Could (?) account for some of his high rnd. bouts.)
Rocky Maricano-( This boy could bop with power in either hand. Rock was well known for his hard work commitment, in and out of the ring. could hit with the same power in the last rds. as he did the first.)
What heavyweight fighters in your opinion, had the greatest strength and stamina?
stamina--Ali
strength--Foreman or Earnie Shavers
Reply:Stamina: Jack Johnson and Larry Holmes. Not only were both well conditioned, both knew how to pace themselves.
Reply:Marciano has both qualities which was why he was undefeated. Ali, even early in his career, took rounds off and then came back strong. Marciano was non stop. The KO percentages show who was the stronger puncher.
Reply:I think Ali has great stamina, no one can take Joe Frazier body pounding for 15 rounds and keep dancing. His strength is underrated, just look at how easy he tied people up. People who say he can not punch, one punch KO of Liston, and Liston had a good chin.
Reply:john l. sullivan, james j. jeffries, jack dempsey, and rocky marciano...
Reply:Jack Johnson for sure, they went until the other man couldn't go anymore none of this 12 rounds and we will add up points stuff. dude was a tank
Reply:Balboa. the guy never gives up.
Reply:Greatest strength %26amp; stamina was Jim Jefferies who broke Tom Sharkey's nose %26amp; 2 of his ribs in their 25 round war. Jefferies KO'd Fitz with one punch to win the Heavyweight Championship after Fitz broke Jim's nose. Jefferies also broke Jim Corbett's %26amp; Gus Ruhlin's ribs when he fought them. Jim Jefferies still holds the record of 55 seconds as the quickest KO in any Heavyweight Title Fight. The fact that one man.......Jim Jefferies.....accomplished all of these feats %26amp; records is a testament to him %26amp; establishes him as having the greatest strength %26amp; stamina ever.
Reply:turn of the century fighters were trained for long fights so they had to have plenty of stamina, so the likes of jack johnson would have to train for 25 round fights..
since then, rocky marciano had both strength %26amp; stamina, as had dempsey.
ali, louis,,walcott, charles all had exeptional stamina.
liston, foreman, frazier, baer %26amp; tyson had exeptional strength.
Reply:Glass joe definitley has to b considered!
Reply:Stamina would be Marciano for sure - no question. He would win pound for pound strength also, but not overall strength because of size. Probably Foreman on strength.
Reply:thats easy, stamina was Marciano. he also had incredible strength for his size, but im sure a big man would win that, like a foreman , liston, or shavers. generally the 2 traits dont go together.
