I am 30 years old and started jogging this month on a average of 3 times a week for 30 minutes. I warm up to a light walk for 10 minutes before jogging. Is that too long? I am not looking to fat burn more for fitness - stamina and toning.
1. How long should I warm up on the treadmill before jogging? 2. How long should I be jogging?
you really shouldn't warmup not on a treadmill. you can but its much better to just warm up outside. you get more out of it if you do a normal warmup. it may be a bit colder but you should wear sweats to keep them warm and get the blood flowing. a treadmill is easier because the ground is moving for you. and 10 minutes may or may be okay. its all about how YOU feel. if you walk 10 minutes and feel like your legs arnt warm, then do more. so its depends, but you should have a good sweat going. not really tired but not fresh. so that when you start the workout, your not spending alot of time trying to warm up. hope this is helpful.
Reply:Good on you
You don't need to warm up to jog.
Jogging is used by runners to warm up.
10 - 30 minutes is good but be careful of injury. Don't jog if you have any pain. Muscle soreness is OK though.
