How to increase stamina for basketball?

i can get tired very quickly while playing basketball. what are ways to increase stamina? basketball? biking? I made the JV summer league team and i will need a lot of stamina? how much running should I do? and how about biking? thanks

Reply:My best advice would be to set little goals and improve on them every week. For example, say you want to start running 3 times a week. The fist time you go running (treadmill or outside), try to run 15 minutes. Then the next time you go running, try to run for 16 minutes and then 17. The next week try to run for 18-20 minutes.



The best way to increase your stamina is to get out there and run! Start off with a little goal (like 15 minutes), and improve upon it the next time you run. After doing this for 6-8 weeks, you'll notice a significant improvement when you're out there on the court.
