im 13 and im joing senior high team because fo my level of basketball, but im a bit over weight so what do i do for individual practices and how to get my stamina, vertical jump ect. up?
What should i do for basketball training for off season?
I would try out for an AAU summer basketball team. Or just do as many basketball camps as you can.
Monday- Distance running.
Tuesday- Agility (like jump in the shapes of a triangle, square with weights in your hand as fast as you can and make it burn.)
Wednesday- Rest? lol Shoot some free throws.
Thursday- Sprints, line drills w/e just run hard and throw up.
Friday- more agility
Saturday- Play NBA 2k8 with your friends and call them lazy.
Sunday- I dunno but remember to run bleachers too. It helps on jumping.
Also your abdominal muscles will help you jump too.
Reply:Cardio.....hit the treadmills and set it to cardio (not fat loss) not only will you increase your stamina but you will also strengthen your calves (which will allow you to jump high) and help you lose weight.
Reply:Just make sure that when you run you are dribbling. If you are running that is great, and it will help keep you in shape, but if you can run, and learn to dribble at the same time it will put you ahead that much more. There are lots of good drills you can do with the ball as well that you can do in between your cardio workouts.
All I am saying is that working out is good, but working out with a basketball in hand is always better. Play as much as you can.
choose roller blades
