I am a figure skater (skate 4 days/week). I was wondering why (when I am breathing really hard) I get this metallic taste in my mouth. I know it comes from my lungs because I can taste it in the air that is coming up from my lungs. Is this all part of building up your stamina? Is it just a sign that my lungs are stretching more to accomodate more air? I really do work hard on the ice.
Thanks everyone!
Why do I get a metallic taste in my mouth after I work out really hard %26amp; am breathing really hard?
The metallic taste is the iron in your blood that you taste. You got blood rushing through your body, no big deal that you can taste it, just as long as your not spitting up blood.
Reply:Do you have a lot of Fillings? Crowns? You could have a lot of Heavy Metal in your body and need to do a detox, Talk to an Herbalist
Reply:I have read that a metallic taste in the mouth comes from mercury in the body. Some dental fillings contain mercury. It also said mercury is bad for your body.
Reply:I get that after I run and I hate it! I feel like blood is coming up (but it isn't). I heard it is actually blood, from expansion of the lungs.
