I'm trying to gain more stamina when I run, but I can't even run a block without being out of breath. Yet I can ride a bicycle for a couple miles or more. Will this help me?
Can riding a bicycle help to improve one's running stamina?
Yes they are both good cardiovascular work outs but in order to gain stamina through bike riding for running you need to increase your bike rides and make them a little more challenging (hills, etc.). Also, if you keep runnng that block on a regular basis, soon you will go 1 1/2 blocks before you run out of breath, then 2 blocks. Don't be embarassed to start out slow. It is the only way that you can build up your stamina with actual running. Hope that helps and God Bless!
