How should i increase my stamina to play football?

i am going out for WR i have great hands and i am also fast faster than average but the problem with that is that i cant run for a long period of time any advice ill do anything to get my stamina up

How should i increase my stamina to play football?
"Run Forrest, Run" but run with a purpose. Most of your routes are going to be between 5 and 15 yards with a couple deep balls thrown in for good measure. The only way to build up your stamina is going to be to run, and then run, and then run some more.
Reply:Aerobic exercise is the only way to build endurance. You're not sprinting, you're just jogging and trying to keep your heartbeat at 140-160 beats per minute (or 14-16 beats every 6 seconds). Start at 20 minutes three days a week and build up from there. You should be able to get to 60 minutes.



If you don't really care for running, you can bike or swim or do an elliptical traininer. It doesn't matter, just keep your heart rate between those two numbers.
Reply:first of all, if your in football you to have weightlift, and doing push ups will definitely increase your stamina, but just do enough push ups so that you don't get sour the next day.
Reply:You can run to you drop but the best way to get in football shape is to keep playing. I could run 4 miles and still get shortness of breath after 4 long routes. If your a wr you want to do long sprints. Start with 30 yards and work your way down the field. Rest for a couple of minutes and do it again. Really the only way. If your getting ready to go to 2 a days you will get in better shape as the days go by.

Reply:Swimming can help you with that. When you swim, you have to control your breathing and exercise at the same time. If you swim laps you can build up your stamina and work your muscles at the same time.
